BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETINGS
Board meetings are open to the public. Meetings are scheduled every three weeks. (Link to 2013 Schedule) Notice of and agenda for meetings of the Board of Education are posted at the Education Center 72 hours prior to the regular meetings and 24 hours prior to the special meetings. The Board meetings are held in the Board Room of the Education Center located at 2730 N. Del Mar Avenue, Rosemead, California. Occasionally, Board meetings may be held at an announced location within the jurisdiction of the District.
In accordance with Board Policy 9323, members of the public who wish to speak at Board meetings can download and complete the Request to Address the Board Form (Link to Form) and submit it prior to the beginning of the Board meeting.
Speakers may speak ONCE on a specific topic during Hearing of Persons in the Audience or when the Board addresses an item. Each speaker may speak a maximum of three minutes; no more than 15 minutes will be allowed for each agenda item which is subject to the Board President waiving or reducing time allotments. The Board cannot take action on items not listed on the agenda but may refer matters to staff for resolution or later action by the Board.
Members of the public may request that a matter within the jurisdiction of the Board be placed on the agenda of a regular meeting. To request an item, you may download and complete the Request for Item(s) to Be Placed on Agenda (Link to Form) The request must be in writing and be submitted to the Board secretary with supporting documents and information, if any, at least 8 school days prior to the scheduled meeting date.
Any person with disability who wishes to attend a public meeting and who require aids in order to participate in the public meeting, can contact the Superintendent's Office at (626) 307-3444 at least 48 hours prior to the public meeting to request any disability-related modification or accommodation, including auxiliary aids or services.
