Welcome to the 2009-2010 School Year at Frances E. Willard Leadership Academy. We are located on the east end of the Garvey Elementary School District. Our Students represent a diverse population of English, Hispanic, Chinese and Vietnamese Cultures. We have (22) regular classroom teachers, (2) Special Education Teachers, a Resource Teacher, an Academic Coach and (2) Head Start Classes. Our support staff consists of a School Psychologist, Adaptive Physical Education teacher, Speech Pathologist, RSP Teacher, (17) instructional assistants that speak all the languages of our community. Counseling services are provided by an outside agency. We provide all state adopted curriculums. To enhance our student academic progress, we provide additional support through our enrichment programs. We offer a wide range of assemblies and programs that value our different cultures. To help support our Leadership Academy we received support from the Panda Corporation as well as the Franklin Covey Group. Our Academy implemented "The Leader in Me" materials as well as technology to create a strong leadership model that will foster a positive climate where character building and academic skills will be developed and enhanced to a higher standard. Parental and Community participation and support is a vital part of our school. Our volunteer program enhances the school experience of our students and the communication of our parents, breaking all cultural and language barriers.
