welcome everyone to Dewey's 2019-2020 6th grade promotion I'm very pleased to be here today on what I know is a very special day special for the graduates for their proud parents and families and also for their very released teachers is it time to take a break and reflect feeling good as a parent or a man or knowing that the kids that you care about are doing just fine and that they're on the right path today is one of those great occasions when we get to celebrate our young people their cheeseman's their perseverance and their successes as they grow up to get it started I will pass it over to our 6th grade teachers Miss cross in Disgaea now presenting perfect attendance for the year either students who did not miss a day of and they had zero tardies from room 20 Angela Union SC to Ashley Michelle Solis turo resume Vivienne Tam Alan Lee Yu Yang Lee and chain you you want call room 22 perfect attendance with no tardies Ethan Chow Edmund on Derrick Lee Ann Marie Kelly Pham Susana Q Cesar Rivas Angel Solis Elizabeth Pi team a game Stevenson principal's Honor Roll is awarded to students who are on the honor roll list for all trimesters a room 22 those students are Derek Lee Kelly Fab and Mike Tramp Principal Honor Roll from rue21 Kaylee fan and a disitu now presenting the academic Awards awards for mathematics for 20 and room 22 Edmond on for language arts from room 20 Michelle Solis room 22 Angel Solis I'm 24 social studies Cassie Garcia room 22 social studies Cesar Rivas Premiere 12 for science jiaxin Liu call room 22 science Suzanne a q famille 24 art Audrey Perez room 22 art what trim M24 sportsmanship room 22 sportsmanship essential presidential award for outstanding academic itchy this award recognizes students that show outstanding educational growth Improvement commitment or intellectual development in all academic subjects students receiving this award a commitment to learning and growth all academic areas for room 22 the recipients of this award are Leah Garcia Stan again and Stevens them the presidential award for outstanding academic achievement it has been earned by the student Supreme 2010 Alvin GA Ashley Wang value yeah Michelle Tran and Kaylee check now we present presidential award for outstanding academic Excellence award recognizes academic success in the classroom standards for the award are to perform at 90% or higher in all academic areas on a traditional grading scale students receiving this award demonstrated High motivation initiative Integrity intellectual depth leadership qualities and exception judgment items from rue21 earn this award are Angela Nguyen Kaylee fan ASC to Alyssa and Austin Liu the recipient of the presidential award for outstanding academic Owensboro to our Derek Lee Kelly Pham Elizabeth Thai garlic Tran and Peanut gang presidential award for citizenship is being awarded do students participated in school community service this award recognizes to students that showed a positive attitude displayed in the understanding and appreciation responsibility possessing strength of character and the courage to do what is right they also exceptionally displayed all the ship finally the students promoted citizenship here at Julie and the Camino through other activities the recipient for Route 22 is Angel Solis the recipient from Rim 20 is Sofia Young I don't have a lot to be proud of and now like to pass it over to to six grade students who will speak from their perspective a destitute and Derek Lee good morning parents staff and students my name is a test and I am a 6th grader from this process time I just want to take a moment to thank all of my teachers and everyone who made my baby is here at Dewey very memorable I want to thank my family and friends who stood by my side and helped guide me through my door here I doing thank you to all the teachers who dedicated their time to teach me and helped shape me to the percent that I am now although this is 4 years has not been what I had expected something good still come out of it I was able to do some things that has never been done before on Monday March 2nd I was chosen to be a reader for dr. Seuss day a once-in-a-lifetime experience for me thank you to my shoes class for helping me make this experience magical do you will always have a special it's in my heart and I will never forget all the memories and friends that I made while I was here some advice that I would like to give is to not let anything get in your way no matter what you always succeed never give up and cherish the Sweet Moments that you had I had a pleasure being a student here at Dewey and remember once a dolphin always a dolphin thank you so much and then a right because we come to school almost every day at Roosevelt I'm here just as we their students parents three staff members and special guests my name is Derek Lee and I am a 6th grade student from the sky at this class has been a wonderful place for me and it is full of many wonderful memories now leaving Elementary School and about to enter Middle School I'm here today to greet all the upcoming 6th graders and let them know World feel like for them but first I want to thank my I want to thank the teachers that taught me from kindergarten all the way to 6th grade which are Miss Chad missing miss you mister Jung dr. Morales Miss Ramirez and finally Miss guy after all these teachers taught me a lot and made a great positive impact on my life I want to thank our principal mr. roach for giving us great activities like a carnival for our school teachers and principal Balsam is my wonderful Spa play with me from the very beginning my friends are really special to me because they have always supported me and helped me when I needed them when I am said they would share me up or just make me laugh all specially Mister ones. going to my middle school 6th grade to me has been one of the most amazing experiences ever in my life who would have thought that I would end my 6th grade year learning virtually through zoom and Google Classroom 6th grade is a very adorable memories to me because we have so many fun activities even painting was a lot of fun even though we couldn't do a proper promotion and couldn't go to Camp 6th grade is so wonderful for the one reason why 6th grade is amazing artist switch on the cross and the sky answer even though I didn't have Miss cross I have been in her classroom and she is very funny and positive I have missed a t-shirts and she is one of my favorite t-shirts at Dewey because she is funny she also makes my day better when I have said so to everyone that's about to answer 6th grade I want to tell you that you are going to love it and 60s can be over in a blink of an eye as we leave let us not forget 1 dolphin always a dolphin Ed Mell my message to the 6th grade students 6th graders you should know that your families are very proud of you they have high hopes for you and they believe in you you are making them Proud by showing them all that you can do today is an important day for them and for you 6th graders you had some great times this year you probably also had some tests you're also the only group of six grade students who have had to end the year with online distance learning in a virtual 6th grade promotion but in the end you did it and he succeeded you're ready for that next step I'll say to you what I said to the 6th graders before you and will continue to say to the sixth graders that come after you I ask that you prepare for this next up by doing two things first offense simple watch your language words matter and they stick around long after we choose to say or type them to speak the truth speak up for you speak words of gratitude always say please and thank you with actually makes a big difference number to be kind friendliness and cheerfulness is contagious spread far and wide there are great things coming and just as your parents are proud each one of you should feel proud of yourself so congratulations to all of the graduates congratulations to the pair and finally congratulations to the teachers and everyone else who helped our graduates reach there today I'll leave you with a quote from dr. Seuss you have brains in your head you have feet in your shoes you can steer your anyway YouTube I'm now happy to say congratulations 6th graders congratulations to the 6th grade class of 2020 hi my name is Jenna and I'm going to Mississippi subject and some of them help their teacher I think that graduating from Huey school is exciting it's an exciting thing because we can finally move on to the next grade level to tell me we can still follow the shower so we cancelled hotels because we have to pass the first level of running in a school thank you for helping me how to bake a potato I'm excited to go to middle school so I can go by fast so I can come home and play fortnite I'm a is why I like because it features and I claim we're friends at the playground I'm happy but I'm sad I'm happy because I will be meeting new people and going to school for another and I'm also sad because I'll be leaving Dewey school and losing all the teachers speed run away with Batman hour and the Chipmunks China begin with B Indiana Jones and my name is just an IQ and what I like about you we are those fun activities that you and your friends like mixer and some teachers I get to help me with a problem that I need and yeah those are good things what I really like about doing alone season 3 with every go to Dewey School I've been there since this is the best glove ever been to the teachers there I appreciate having every teacher have had four for each grade I loved it there because they took care of you no matter what now I'm going to middle school I'm really thankful we're having them cuz they taught me a lot thank you how do you read a see-through and I have been arguing for 8 years I'll be going to Garvey next year I will be starting a new Journey there but I'll never forget Dewey and all of my memories that I made here very excited to be able to transition to Middle School the new challenges in to meet new people . I had lots of fun at Dewey from the day that I K I have some people that helps me feel like if I was not lost I am very sad that I am soon going to but I will always be at Bowie. I can't wait to go to Garvey
