Welcome to the Learning Support Services Department!

"Educational Excellence and Equity for All Students"  describes the vision of the Garvey School District . To meet this challenge, the entire staff of the Learning Support Services Department (LSS) is committed to ensuring high-quality instruction for all students through our continuous, concerted efforts in the following areas:
  • Providing rigorous curriculum aligned to the Common Core (California) State Standards
  • Utilizing assessments to monitor student progress, measure program effectiveness, and guide instructional practices
  • Effectively utilizing state- and district-adopted curricular materials to provide universal access for students with diverse needs
  • Designing and implementing quality supplemental intervention and enrichment programs
  • Promoting meaningful parent involvement to strengthen home-school partnership
  • Supporting a quality professional learning community through research-based professional development programs
  • Utilizing technology, library and media resources to support teaching and learning
