Beginning Reading ListsThis is a site by Margaret Jensen for the Cooperative Children's Book Center at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. Here you may find great books for beginning readers, separated into categories such as books featuring "Rhyme and Rhythm," "Repetition," or "Sight Words." The list for each category begins with the easiest to read books, and then ends with the more difficult ones, as your child's reading skill and confidence level grows.

Kids ReadMorton Grove WebraryThe librarians at the Morton Grove Public Library in Illinois have created one of the best web-menus for booklists I've ever seen! Use this directory to search for booklists in over 45 categories. Click on "Boys," to help your child find books in which the main characters are boys; click on "Girls;" "Mysteries;" "Humor;" "Dogs;" "Talking Animals;" etc. You can even click on a "Harry Potter Guide" which lists all characters in the series and the book(s) in which they appear, great quotations, etc. You'll LOVE this website!
